Waeg made a strategic decision in selecting Salesforce Net Zero Cloud as our sustainability management solution. By choosing this platform, we are now able to take proactive measures to effectively track, monitor, and reduce our carbon footprint. Salesforce’s sustainability solution equips us with the tools and insights necessary to make informed decisions and drive energy efficiency and clean energy use across our company.
We are convinced that sustainability and business growth go hand in hand and we are committed to doing our part in the global efforts towards a net-zero economy. At the same time, we are preparing our company to be compliant with upcoming European and local regulations.
What is Net Zero Cloud?
Implementing Salesforce Net Zero Cloud is a game-changer for organisations looking to take proactive steps towards sustainability. This innovative solution allows businesses to effectively track, reduce, and mitigate their carbon footprint, aligning with global efforts to combat climate change. Salesforce Net Zero Cloud empowers companies to make data-driven decisions, set achievable emission reduction goals, and contribute to a greener future.
Our Approach
The first step we took in our Salesforce Net Zero Cloud implementation was to assess our company’s current carbon footprint. We collected data from various sources such as energy consumption, transportation, and business travel, and when fed into the Net Zero Cloud platform, this provided us with a comprehensive view of emissions through built-in emission factors. This data enables us to identify emissions hotspots and understand the areas that require attention. With the carbon footprint assessed, Salesforce Net Zero Cloud offers a range of tools and functionalities to drive emission reduction initiatives.
The platform allows us to set goals, track progress, and measure the impact of our sustainability efforts. It provides real-time insights and analytics to help businesses identify opportunities for improvement and implement targeted strategies to reduce emissions across our operations and value chain. Additionally, Salesforce Net Zero Cloud works well with our current systems and ways of doing things. One of the steps we took was to integrate with our existing process for booking requests. This ensures emissions are automatically calculated when travel requests are approved. Not only does this save time and effort but it also makes our GHG reporting more transparent and accurate.
Recipe for Success
A successful Salesforce Net Zero Cloud implementation requires a holistic approach, involving cross-functional collaboration and ongoing engagement from key stakeholders. For our project, we brought together members of our administration, finance, internal Salesforce and management teams. During our discussions about the project requirements, the team members were strongly committed and aligned with the view that implementing Net Zero Cloud was absolutely necessary as a critical capability to help meet our commitments to our company and its stakeholders.
One team member, in particular, who plays a vital role in our Net Zero Cloud practice, mentioned:
“For a company like Waeg, it is crucial to embrace this initiative. Taking action to track and reduce emissions aligns with the global imperative to reduce emissions by 55% by 2030. By being involved in the implementation, I felt empowered to contribute to a larger cause, making a positive impact on a bigger scale. Our focus on sustainable solutions at Waeg allows us to help our clients reduce their emissions significantly.”
Next Steps
By embracing Salesforce Net Zero Cloud, companies can showcase their commitment to environmental responsibility, differentiate themselves in the market, and drive positive change towards a sustainable future. The platform provides a comprehensive approach to environmental management but also addresses other crucial aspects of sustainability. As a next step, we are looking to incorporate our DEI and governance data in order to achieve a holistic overview of our sustainability efforts.
